RPG Guru Ron Edwards has been running a series of indie game creation challenges over at the Forge. The games must be written in 24 hours.

– Then I judge who receives a Ronny and provide detailed feedback for every entry. A Ronny consists of $50 and willingness to assist and discuss the game as much as you want, says Edwards.
The entries are available at the 24-Hour RPG website 1km1kt.net.
Many previous entries have become published games.

– [The topics of this year’s games] are daring, fascinating, and occasionally shocking. People are using their experiences with innovative mechanics to break new ground into innovative subjects. At least one game has prompted horrified outcries of protest, says Edwards.

Exploading pants

A new edition of the U.S. indie RPG “Panty Explosion” ships on May 1st. The anime-inspired game is a “Psychic Japanese Schoolgirl Adventure Game.” Previous editions have received favorable reviews over at RPG.net.

– Panty Explosion Perfect is a refined version of the original game, designed to be easier to learn and faster to play, says author Jake Richmond.

Deadly Italian Ravens


The second Italian indie – RavenDeath – was released in November, with an English language edition due in March. The game is about vendetta, revenge, and to our knowledge features no penguins.
